LET YOUR CLIENT HAVE FUN TELLING YOU WHAT TO DO WITH 36 Different CUSTOM ILLUSTRATED PICTURE COMMUNICATION SYMBOL CARDS in this set!

Expressive messages that produce valued outcomes are a powerful way to begin introducing students to AAC. This set goes beyond asking for objects! Instead of clients asking for a cookie or a drink, this set is designed to allow them to learn AAC using special custom designed picture symbols to ask for desired outcomes either by exchange or by pointing. This set is designed so the client could use these FOUR SpeechPages (with specialized drawn picture communication symbol cards attached with velcro) to request that the clinician perform an action (such as make them a shaving cream snowman, or draw them a flower, or roll them a ball out of clay!)

Real life is filled with needs to ask for others to do things for us, yet it is often a struggle to teach this type of concept of expressive communication in therapy sessions. These specialized SpeechPages are designed to work on that form of expressive communication. In addition to those using exchange communication methods, it is possible that students with emerging vocal skills or with pointing communication skills could use these SpeechPages with their mode of communication as well. In some cases a clinician could also attach the velcroed communication symbols to a client's introductory type speech generating communication device and program in a matching expressive message (if appropriate.)

When clinicians try to make an activity such as this on their own using a computer program, they may just end up with a lot of abstract pictures that do not look like the actual outcome the client would request.
Abstract pictures or clip art may be difficult for the client with Autism and other developmental disabilities to understand.

At SpeechPage Publishing Co. ALL are images are illustrated by a Speech Language Pathologist with over 25 years of experience who is specialist in AAC, and has worked with large numbers of students with Autism for over 15 years. You get what you need for the AAC task at hand. NO GENERIC & Abstract CLIP ART! It really makes a difference with this type of Speech Therapy!
(CLIP ART COMPUTER PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED FOR EVERYONE, BUT THESE SPEECHPAGES ARE ILLUSTRATED & DESIGNED BY AN EXPERIENCED SLP FOR AAC SPEECH THERAPY ONLY!)

Suggestions for Therapy sheet is also included! NOTE: Suggestions for possible use only. The qualified Clinician using this product should have a familiarity with Alternative/Augmentative Communication systems and the exchange of communication symbols as a method of communication. Not all clients are capable of using specific forms of AAC.
